The heavy load of a typical school backpack forces children to lean forward while carrying their schoolbooks. This is to counteract the straps pulling the front of the shoulders backwards.

Years of constantly leaning forward eventually results in poor posture and problems with backache.

This invention is a shaped harness that is attached to each shoulder strap of the backpack. The harness is manufactured from rigid plastic with soft shoulder padding.

The harness can be designed with a hollow through which the shoulder straps can be inserted or can be attached by Velcro between the shoulders and the straps.

The rigid shape of the harness ensures the weight of the backpack rests on top of the shoulders.
