Visually enhanced traffic lights

At night, traffic lights are less visible because of the number of bright advertising boards and neon signs placed in the vicinity.

This is an additional faceplate fitted around the housing of an existing traffic light. The periphery of the faceplate has a set of red, green and orange neon tubes. The tubes are powered and coordinated by the same control panel as that of the traffic light.

When the traffic light indicates RED, the red neon tube would be illuminated to help enhance the visibility of the traffic light.

Persons that are colour blind distinguish the signal from its position not its colour, hence by surrounding the light with circular neon strip will confuse the situation. South Africa Potential: Probably NO

One cannot see accurately reason being is that it can be misleading. The red light with the panel being red is not eye catching. A simple bright red light, or Green light on its own shows the level of accurancy. South Africa Potential: Definitely NO

This is a BAD idea. Colour blind people tell the colour of the light by the location of the inuminated light. i.e. Top Red, Bottom Green. If you add extra lights around these lights i makes it that mutch harder to see. South Africa Potential: Definitely NO
