Who we are
In 2007 Lourence Greyvenstein set Patentdata's objective to play an international role in promoting innovation and business growth.
Wayne de Nobrega joined Lourence to add his skills in software development and management to the team.
Lourence invented a new product in 1986, going through the process of patenting his invention (US Patent No. 5 246 110) and successfully licensing his invention to several companies in the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia. The product is a plastic bag with a wave-like opening and is licensed, amongst others, to Glad Products, USA who markets it as Glad Quick-Tie bags. At that time Lourence was vice president of one of South Africa's largest industrial banks, heading up the loans division.
Wayne is chief executive of a major Internet technology company, which has built its success on innovation, with technical creativity a hallmark of its offerings.

What we do
Patentdata specializes in providing value-add information on patent applications filed daily that cover new ideas by innovators from around the world. The information is made freely available, and promoted through a social media platform that allows businesses to take it to their website visitors via two email publications, New Ideas Daily and New Ideas Weekly.
These newsletters act as a powerful marketing tool for the businesses concerned, but more importantly enables newsletter subscribers to identify new ideas that can help them start or grow their business.
A unique feature is that subscribers can send email alerts to the business that enabled their subscription when they spot new ideas they believe can grow that business.
Publishers can also show new ideas to their readers thru Patentdata's New Idea Images service. Readers are shown new ideas every day and they can give their opinion on the new ideas featured. Readers see all the feedback the next day, highlighting ideas with potential.
The platform was created as part of Lourence and Wayne's commitment to fostering innovation, but it's not purely philanthropic; over time, as the user base grows, the site will become self sustaining through revenue generated by contextual advertisements displayed with new ideas featured in the newsletters and on publishers' websites.
