Home exercise machines that offer resistance-training features often comprise bulky frames to support weight stacks and cable pulley systems. Another popular exercise system comprises of strong elastic bands that are secured by brackets to a door enabling a person to perform various arm and leg exercises. However, varying the exercise resistance requires bands with different elasticity properties, which need to be reattached to handles and foot straps.
This indoor exercise device comprises a low profile platform that is configured with cutout portions, which are spaced along the periphery of the platform. The cut outs are contoured to seat and retain an anchor ball, which used to secure the elastic band to the platform. Depending on the degree of resistance, the anchor ball may be fastened to one or several anchor loops at the base of the elastic band.
The platform also houses a pair of spring-loaded pulleys in its undercarriage, which are linked to cables protruding though the platform. The ends of the cables are provided with cuffs by which they are secured to the ankles of a person performing resistive leg exercises.
Accessories such as barbells and small grips handles are also provided by which a person may perform a larger range of resistive exercises than currently possible with home exercise equipment. The low-profile platform is also easy to slide underneath a bed where it remains out of the way until needed
